RECRUITMENT PROCESS OF UNDP UZBEKISTAN Five principles of selection process COMPETITION OBJECTIVITY TRANSPARENCY DIVERSITY ACCOUNTABILITY Selection Phase All UNDP UZB vacancies are advertised externally for 2 weeks at www.undp.uz web site, local newspaper BVV, http://uzjobs.com web site, as well as disseminated widely among various educational institutions, civil society, and major professional associations as well as women's NGOS and Women's Committee Vacancy Management Selection Management Only candidates, who fully meet the required qualifications for the position (education, experience, languages) may be given further consideration for the post. No offer of UNDP contract can be made without review of the relevant authority/corporate committee to ensure compliance with recruitment and selection rules, policies and processes by hiring units. Compliance Management Decision Depending on the contract modality, and with reference to Internal Control Framework – the decision on selected candidate is made by the UNDP senior official. Three stages of selection process LONG LISTING All applicants have to be screened against the following minimum UNDP corporate requirements: Academic qualifications (Minimum Education requirements); Minimum relevant years of experience as stipulated in the Vacancy Announcement; Family relations (mother, father, brother, sister, son or daughter of the staff member within UNDP and UN Common System); Language skills. WRITTEN EXAMINATION Candidates who meet the established criteria (above) are invited for written test. By the results of the written test, only those applicants who passed the established threshold are invited for an interview, including at least one qualified female candidate. INTERVIEW UNDP uses competency based interviews for all recruitment, whereby an interview questions are designed to encourage the candidate to provide specific evidence of his/her past behavior in areas relevant to the competencies being probed.
