HOW TO CARE FOR PETS If you have COVID-19 or if your pets have been exposed to COVID-19 Keep Your Pets in Your Home Consider this if pets must be moved to another home • If you are sick, ask someone else in your home who is not sick to care for your pets. • If everyone in the home is sick or you live alone, it is still best to keep your pets in the home if it is possible to care for them. • Individuals at higher risk for severe COVID-19 illness (people over 65) years or with underlying health conditions) should avoid being temporary caregivers to exposed animals, if possible. Avoid close or prolonged contact with pets Keep the pets isolated to one area of the home in order to minimize contact with other animals or people, if possible.
