HOW TO CHANGE A FLAT TIRE Make sure you are parked on a flat surface and that you are safe and visible, Use your emergency blinkers and parking brake. BRAKES Remove the hub cap and loosen the lug nuts with tire iron. Do not remove the lug nuts just yet. Consult the owner's manual of CAR MANUAL the car on where to place the jack. It should be the sturdiest part of the car frame. Turn the crank until it makes contact with the underside of the car frame. Continue cranking until the tire is high enough off the ground to be removed easily. Do not let any part of your body get under the car while it is on the jack. Now you can finish removing the lug nuts, keeping them secure in the hub cap. Place the spare tire onto the wheel's studs, then replace the lug nuts. Make sure they are on as tight as possible. 1 Lower the jack and finish tightening the lug nuts in the illustrated star 1 3 0o 4 2 5. 2 pattern. 4 Bolt 5 Bolt 6 Bolt Drive slowly on your spare and for as little time as possible.
