KITCHEN LAYOUT GUIDE The effective "work triangle" keeps the three key appliances - fridge, oven/hob, and sink/dishwasher within handy, unobstructed reach of each other and allows efficient and easy food preparation and storage, cooking and washing. U-SHAPED KITCHEN Ideal for two cooks. Floor area should at least be 8 x 8 feet. Place the sink opposite or near the cooking area. D/W Mark areas for meal preparation, cooking, and clean-up. Use accents or Keep paths obstacle-free. decor to avoid the boxed-in look. L-SHAPED KITCHEN Perfect for studio apartments. Lighten up dark corners. D/W Designate the longer area for meal prep.
