ACCOUNTING HISTORY OF 1880 1900 thru Cities in the United States grew at a dramatic rate between 1880-1890. Most of this population growth is due to the expansion of industry. 371 Steady streams of people also migrated to the cities from rural America during this period. Until William Henry Perkin's accidental discovery of aniline dye, purple clothes were associated uwith royalty because the dyes were so expensive. New York Governor L.P. Morton signs the first CPA bill into law.
