WE REMEMBER 2015 HALF-STAFF DATES * GETTYSBURGFLAG.COM WHO ISSUES HALF-STAFF PROCLAMATIONS: TYPICAL REASONS FOR A HALF-STAFF PROCLAMATION INCLUDE: • Death of principal figures of the U.S. government • Death of local government officials • Death of foreign dignitaries • Death of military person • Death of civil service person Only the President and state Governors can issue a half-staff order for government properties. It will state when and how long the American flag (and/or state flags) should be flown at half-staff.
