OBAMACARE ENROLLMENT DATES The following timeline shows the Open Enrollment Perlods and Special Enrollment Perlods for enrolling in, or making changes to your health insurance, through 2020*. During an Open Enrollment Perlod everyone can enroll in a new health plan or make changes to their existing health insurance. However, if you miss one of the relatively short Open Enrollment Periods, you will need to qualify for a Special Enrollment Period in order to enroll in health insurance or make changes to your plan. Special Enrollment Periods are only granted in cases where a Qualifying Life Event has occurred.
