THE MOST COMMON HEALTH ISSUES CAUSED BY THE 9/11 ATTACKS TOXIC DUST THE TOXIC DUST CONSISTED OF: The dust that was created by the collapse of the Twin Towers was incredibly toxic, filled with millions of tons of pulverized cement, steel, drywall, window glass, and other building materials as well as incinerated computers, electrical cables, and heating and cooling ducts. The WTC Health Program administers medical benefits to individuals whose physical and mental health has been affected by the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The program benefits cover a long list of health conditions, including aerodigestive disorders, various types of cancers, mental health disorders, musculoskeletal disorders, and acute traumatic injuries.
