In the meantime, you should follow the tips below: • Chew your food well to help your stomach digest more easily. Drink fluids with every meal to help food pass through your intestines more efficiently. Religiously drink eight to ten glasses of water or fluids each day. Eating four to six small meals is more ideal. It will help you monitor your stoma bag and care for your wound easier. • Eat smaller servings to reduce your stool output. You can have your largest meal at noon. Gradually increase your fibre intake after six to eight weeks to reach the amount needed for bowel control.
