How to Really Stick to Your Fitness Resolutions All Year Long

HOW TO REALLY STICK TO YOUR FITNESS RESOLUTIONS ALL YEAR LONG WINTER Find your way of tracking and set attainable goals - test out a few fitness apps on your phone, decide if you want to step on the scales, measure your inches or judge your body by how a certain piece of clothing fits (jeans are very popular for this method!). SMALL CHANGES You are far more likely to give up if you try everything at once (or give up everything at once!). Easy weight loss and fitness habits to adopt early include drinking 8 glasses of water every day and getting 7-8 hours of sleep every day. Zz SPRING - QUARTER TOWARDS GOAL KEEP FRIENDS AND FAMILY UPDATED People who talk about their resolutions rather than keep them bottled up are more likely to succeed - check in with your friends and tell them how you're getting on. STEP IT UP! After three months of working on your health, you should be feeling very positive and energised now! It's time to take your routine up a notch, whether it's upping your vegetable intake, taking an extra class a week, or trying out tougher workouts. BUILD A SAFETY NET Feeling guilty about skipping the gym? Always keep a set of at-home work routines on hand to do at home on your lazy days. SUMMER - HALFWAY TOWARDS GOAL NEW EXPERIENCES Any habits that you started in January should be completely ingrained into your personality after six months (according to science). Celebrate by trying something completely new! Try out green smoothies, or brave a spin class! GET OUTDOORS The weather is finally nice - soak up some Vitamin D by jogging in the park or taking up an outdoor sport like tennis or cycling. SUMMER HOLIDAY Many of us over-indulge on our holidays. This is the best time to reward yourself for all of your hard work wardrobe or a new fangled fitness gadget would be a great reward for the last six months of hard work! a new summer AUTUMN - THREE QUARTERS TOWARDS GOAL This month is where you're most likely to stumble. After the positive summer, you are bound to get the September blues. It's time to EMBRACE AUTUMN! Remember that exercise and healthy food will top up your endorphins, despite the grey skies and rain. ENROL A GYM BUDDY If the gym is making you run scared in the dark, wintry months, ask a friend to work out with you - this makes reaching your goal so much easier in difficult moments share the pains and the gains! LIST YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS Don't focus on the slip-ups and the weak moments, list down all the awesome things you have achieved this year. Looking back on your year will give you a rush to stick to your routine right through to the end of the year! GOAL! TIME TO PLAN FOR NEXT YEAR'S RESOLUTION!
