The story starts with a glimpse of love between two girls, a perfect love you could imagine.
But is that all?
The story soon takes a turn where Harper is hiding her relationship only to be loved and...
accepted by her family, leaving Abby, her girlfriend unheard, invisible, and hurt. The battle is all between being abandoned and accepted. Isn’t it?
Some take the road to accept themselves and, some take the road to abandon themselves to be accepted.
Harper was not only hiding her relationship but herself only to make her win the battle of perfectionism, and in that process, she won the ongoing battle of self-acceptance within her.
The movie also touched on the sensitive part of how sometimes self-acceptance can come at the cost of abandonment from their loved ones.
But isn’t it better to accept oneself than to abandon yourself for the people who can hold you hostage to the purest emotion of love?
Can we understand love above and beyond age, gender, and conditions?
