As a Soldier, you are required to get a dental exam each year. About 1 in 10 Soldiers are medically non-deployable because of an overdue dental exam or missed dental treatment. What happens when I miss or skip my dental exam? What's in it for me? Getting your annual dental exam means you: • Are compliant with Army regulations It may cause you to: • Become non-deployable • Identify developing tooth or mouth problems early • Not be paid for drill attendance Help prevent oral disease or other health • Be unable to support your unit's mission problems • Keep yourself fit for duty • Develop a dental condition or pain that can hinder your performance Ready to see a dentist? Need treatment? Ask your unit to schedule an appointment for follow-up Get a dental exam at your next Periodic Health treatment with a local dentist at Assessment or group event. NO COST TO YOU. No follow-up Have the dentist treatment needed? complete form OR OR You're good to go until next year! DD 2813. Return the form to your unit. Get a dental exam with a Schedule follow-up treatment with your civilian dentist. Ask them to complete form DD 2813. Then, return it to your unit. civilian dentist.
