Couples with one alcoholic spouse are 66% more likely to divorce than other couples. Children of alcoholics are four times as likely to become alcoholics themselves. The NCADD reports that alcohol is a factor in 37% of rapes and sexual assault. About two-thirds of violent attacks where the attacker knows the victim involve alcohol. Alcohol contributes to 88,000 deaths each year in the United States. 6 people die from alcohol poisoning each day in the United States.
