You don't want to spend weeks postponing and trying to prepare. DON'T EXPECT YOUR MIND TO BE COMPLETELY STILL It is the nature of the mind to move from one thought to another. Instead of resisting your thoughts, simply let them happen. This will make your meditation easier and more beneficial. YOU DON'T NEED TO SIT IN A SPECIFIC POSITION When it comes to meditation, there's no need to sit in lotus position or hold your fingers in a particular way. That's an image you often see online and in movies, but it doesn't necessarily reflect real life - the vast majority of people don't meditate that way. YOU HAVE MANY OPTIONS FOR LEARNING MEDITATION You don't have to figure out meditation on your own. Just like any skill, meditation is best learned by receiving personal instruction from a teacher. An experienced teacher will tailor the instruction to your needs and give you a personalised approach. MEDITATION AND MINDFULNESS AREN'T THE SAME Mindfulness means having your attention on the present moment. But not all meditation techniques are based on mindfulness there are many popular techniques that work in other ways. THERE IS ALWAYS TIME TO MEDITATE For the easiest way to fit meditation into your day, I recommend setting your morning alarm 10 minutes early and meditating first thing in the morning - before you get busy with your other activities. © Mira Meditation
