Workout Motivation For Rainy Secaon Don't Let the Rain Ruin Your Workout Plans! Stay-at-home Moves. NO'EXCUSES! •Look for at-home workout videos. Just because you are working out at home doesn't mean you should slack off on your workout. •Do you have dumbbells or weights? Start lifting them! No weights? No problem! Start busting out some push-ups, squats, lunges, crunches, planks & other body weight exercises. • If you don't feel like completing traditional exercise, do chores that require constant movement around your house. •Stretch! Stretching is the best thing you can do for your body, as you can extend your flexibility for the days you can get back outside. Indoor Workouts for RainySeason Jumping Jacks Crunches Bicycle (legs in the air) Push Ups Squats Stepping (if you have steps in your home) Lunges Dance Safety tips to Workout in Rain Stay near your home or office when working out in case it starts to down- pour and you need to head inside. | • Slip on a lightweight waterproof I rain jacket that will repel the rain- | drops (extra water weight makes moving harder). • Run, hike, or bike in the woods or a shady area since the trees will catch most | of the rain. •Steer clear of cars since they can splash into puddles and soak you with one whoosh. •Cloudy weather darkens the sky so whatever you wear, be sure it's bright colored or reflective. •lf it's really gloomy out, wearing a headlamp greatly increases your visibility to cars and other people. •Slip on some wicking socks and water- proof sneakers. •Try to avoid puddles. Wet feet are more prone to blisters. Fitness Gear for a Rainy Workout 1. Invest in some waterproof footwear and wicking socks to keep youur feet dry. 2. Wear a hat or sunglasses to prevent water droplets from spraying in your eyes and dripping all over your face. 3. Make sure your clothes are brightly colored so cars can see you. 4. Wear some shorts or pants designed to repel water. 5. If you like to listen to music while ex- ercising, make sure your iPod or other device is in a waterproof case. How Not to Lose Motivation to Workout on a Rainy day CREATE A RAINY DAY PLAYLIST Rock your workouts! Music can pump you through the gray-cloud lull.
