Roll the dough into small , flat balls with your hands , then use your thumb to make a hole in the centre of each doughnut . 1. Over low to medium heat , melt the vegan margarine . Sunflower oil and soymilk are combined . 2. Remove from the heat once blended , then place aside . 3. With a fork , mash the flour , salt , baking powder , and half the sugar in a different basin . 4. Pour the butter mixture into the centre well that has been created . Gradually combine until a thick dough develops . 6. Oil is heated in a pan . Try frying a little piece of bread in the oil to determine when it is hot enough . If it turns brown and rises to the top , the oil will be ready in 45-50 seconds ! 7. Using a spatula , carefully place the doughnuts into the oil . Fry until golden brown , about 3-5 minutes per side . Salt 1/2 tsp 8. To absorb any extra oil , place the doughnuts on some tissue paper . 9. Roll the doughnut in the second - to - last half of the sugar in a bowl . Recipe Source : Plain Flour 250g
