HARVEST BUYING POINTS E SHELLER Farmers dig the peanuts and separate the leafy greens from the peanut pods. Then they make their way to... MANUFACTURING .a buying point and sheller. Federal inspectors and local employees test, clean and pack the peanuts for their next stop. II CONSUMER Traditional peanut butter reigns, but flavors and other ingredients can be added for extra fun and convenience. Manufacturers employ a range of a few dozen people to more than 100 to help get peanut butter to you. PEANUT BUTTER HUMANITARIAN 94% of Americans have a jar of peanut butter at home. We enjoy eating peanut butter most often at lunchtime (PB&J!), but you may even make it part of breakfast or a snack for an affordable boost of protein.
