GOING GROCERY SHOPPING CHECKLIST Grocery stores are filled with choices galore, but along with the variety come challenges. The following list can help you get in and out quickly, while sticking to a healthy diet plan. 國 PLAN BEFORE YOU SHOP > Avoid temptation and don't grocery shop on an empty stomach > Organize your list to lessen the risk of forgetting an item > Stick to a budget to prevent impulse buys > Go green and bring reusable bags SHOP THE PERIMETER Resist the urge for unhealthy foods by only dipping into the aisles for nutritious pantry items. Sticking to the perimeter, or "shopping the U", makes it easier to manage the fat and sodium in your diet. Fresh produce Starting in the produce section sets the table for healthy choices. Pick up seasonal fare that's locally grown; they contain less pesticides and are more affordable.
