Brunch Cocktails: The Ultimate Bloody Mary

BRUNCH COCKTAIL SERIES THE ULTIMATE BLOODY MARY Nothing says brunch quite like the ubiquitous Bloody Mary. We took ours to another level by giving the base a shot of olive brine and garnishing it with a giant prawn. You might argue this is a meal in and of itself. THE BASE •1/4 cup fresh horseradish (scraped and grated) • 1/2 cup Worcestershire Sauce •1/4 cup Tabasco (or other hot sauce) •2 tbl fresh lemon juice • 2 tbl olive brine •1/2 tsp celery salt •1/4 tsp kosher salt • 1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper THE DRINK • 2 oz vodka •1 tbl base (0.5 oz) 5 oz tomo juice THE GARNISH • Celery with leaves • Spicy pickled green beans • Jumbo cooked prawn • Lemon wedge DIRECTIONS For the base, just mix in a sealable container and let cool in the fridge. Will keep for one week. For the drink, add ice, vodka, base, and tomato juice in a cocktail shaker. Cover, shake once, and then pour into a tall glass. Add a few pickled green beans.
