AVOCADOS CHOCOLATE MAGIC Avocados and chocolate are two foods native to sunny Mexico that we all love. But did you know that they taste even better together? Maybe you’ve never combined them in your mind, but get ready: We'll show you how to combine them for your palate. KEY: 1 Cup 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) 1 Teaspoon (tsp) A Pinch Chocolate Avocado Cake INGREDIENTS: THE CAKE x4 A rich, creamy, fudgy cake made with traditional Mexican flavors and topped with buttercream frosting. 6 ounces high-quality chocolate 4 tbsp cocoa powder 2½ cups flour x2 2 tsp ground cinnamon V½ tsp salt 2 cup almond flour 2 tsp baking soda 2 tsp baking powder 4 cup vegetable oil 2 cups water x1 х1 2 tbsp white vinegar 2 tsp almond extract 1 ripe avocado, cut lengthwise, pitted, and mashed 1 cup sugar 1 cup brown sugar THE FROSTING x2 1/2 2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted 2 cups powdered sugar 4 tbsp cocoa powder ½ tsp cinnamon 1 tsp almond extract ESTIMATED TIME: HOW TO MAKE IT: Prep: 10 Minutes Cook: 45 Minutes 3. 4 350°F 2. 8-inch diameter Chocolate! Dry Wet 8. Combine Frosting! Layer! Chocolate Avocado Mousse INGREDIENTS: The smooth texture of avocados makes a divine base for chocolate mousse. Make V2 cup semisweet chocolate chips 4 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted sure to blend it well! 1/2 1/3 2 cup agave nectar 2 cup cocoa powder 1/3 cup almond milk 1 tbsp vanilla extract 4 tsp salt ESTIMATED TIME: HOW TO MAKE IT: Prep: 10 Minutes Cook: 5 Minutes Waiting: 3 Hours 3. 4 Chocolate! Blend! 3 Hours! Serve! SUBSTITUTIONS: Note that this recipe has many substitutions. Instead of agave nectar, you can use honey or maple syrup. You can use whole milk instead of almond milk and almond extract instead of vanilla. You can add more chocolate, add bananas or prune puree, and more. Chocolate Avocado Banana Cookies INGREDIENTS: х1 Soft, chewy cookies that you can top with ice cream for a sweet evening snack. 1 banana 1 cup avocado flesh 1/2 ½ cup dark cocoa powder 1 egg 2 tbsp honey (optional) Dark chocolate chunks, to taste ½ tsp baking soda ESTIMATED TIME: HOW TO MAKE IT: Prep: 10 Minutes Cook: 8-10 Minutes 350°F Mix!
