Cotton in recycled textiles can be turned into rags for wiping, polishing and cleaning. UP TO 60% OF THE RUBBISH THAT ENDS UP IN THE AVERAGE HOUSEHOLD BIN COULD BE RECYCLED 3% TEXTILES MAKE MAKE UP 3% OF HOUSEHOLD WASTE 269,000 TONS OF TEXTILE WASTE PRODUCED IN THE UK EVERY YEAR 18M TONNES OF CARBON DIOXIDE SAVED BY UK & EACH YEAR DID YOU KNOW... Old clothes can be used to make other textile items, such as cushion covers or cleaning cloths.
