How to Help You Save Energy, Money and the Environment

EARTH DAY 2013 USE LESS ENERGY, SAFE MONEY & PROTECT THE EARTH Clean or replace air filters. Replace filters on exhaust hoods, humidifiers and vacuums. Clogged filters impair performance and cause the units to run longer than necessary. Cook with small appliances. Cook with your toaster oven, microwave or electrical skillet rather than the stove or range. Small appliances use less energy. Dust your refrigerator unit. Clean dust off of the fins, condenser coils, motor and evaporator pan twice a year. A clean unit runs more efficiently. Run full loads. Always run your dishwasher once the unit is completely filled with dishes. Full loads use the same amount of hot water and energy as small loads. Clean the lint trap. After drying, clean out the trap. Also, periodically check the air vent and hose for clogging. Keeping these items dean will help your dryer run efficiently Consider LED lighting. LED lights are becoming more common in households. They use 10 times less energy and last 50 times longer than incandescent lights. Interested in participating in Earth Day? Start by repairing your products rather than replacing them. You'll prevent more trash from entering the landfills and you'll save money – it's a win-win scenario! CReplacementParts .com
