Carbon Dioxide traps greenhouse gases in the earths atmosphere and therefore is a direct cause of global warming. Every year the entire world emits 31,350,455 metric tonnes of CO2 into the earths atmosphere. An increase of carbon dioxide comes from the burning of fossil fuels such as oil, coal and natural gases, though another reason for the increase in CO2 is deforestation.
