In order to save paper and weight, fewer images were used than in previous years. If a piece won in more than one category the image was not duplicated. Lenzing, Austrla Trento, Italy 11,200 copies transported by truck and boat France Germany Italy Netherlands Singapore Spain USA 50% to UK How D&AD saved 82% 50% of the carbon emitted in making and transporting last year's annual Граper Itransport (paper mill to printer) 2010 Itransport (printer to warehouses) The page count was reduced by removing chapter dividers and using thumb cuts instead. 29 total 17 52 tonnes of carbon The paper is 100% post-consumer recycled, uncoated (Recystar Polar 80 gsm). Last year's paper was 128 gsm, coated. 2011 total 4 2 3 9 tonnes The book weighs 16 kg (1 kg lighter than last year). A compostlble lamlnate was used for the white cover. The book itself is printed with soy-based Ink.
