THE WALKING DEAD Evolution of Carl Season 1 When we meet Carl he is just a shy kid. He's usually hanging around the camp, not allowed out of his moth- er's sight. He is still sad over his dad being supposedly dead and spends a lot of time with Shane, his mother, and Sophia. Season 2 Rick finds Carl in the barn. They have a father and son talk, as Rick tells him: "No more kids stuff. I wish you could have the childhood I had, but that's not going to happen. People are gonna die. I'm gonna die..." It's time for Carl to be responsible and do what he's told. Season 3 Damn right, "No more kids stuff"! Carl finishes off his mother after she dies from birthing Carl's sister. Then Carl kills Jody without hesitation when he becomes suspicious that he's trying to trick them. Rick is not happy that Carl has become a psychotic killer. Season 4 Carl is no longer a pig farmer, but a bad ass zombie killing machine! As evidenced by Rick when he sees Carl gunning down every zombie in site... It is then that Rick begins to accept him as a man.
