I’ve been thinking on the free music downloads argument of late and the impact of streaming on mobiles / tablets. Look at the ratio of streams to downloads vs listens on the average Soundcloud free ...
download. The ratio is way in favour of streaming and practically everything is available to stream, somewhere. Even when you can download tunes, far more people just stream from either SoundCloud or YouTube. YouTube for music streaming is simply MASSIVE. With this in mind, when it comes to selling dance music, your only real market is DJs who have to buy the tune to play out, and that’s only because you’d be crazy to stream a tune in a live DJ set.
