The diverse culture is celebrated every year with ethnic and cultural festivals starting in May and running through November. There are festivals to celebrate the many ethnicities and the great culture of the Baltimore area. The ethnic communities bring vibrancy and tradition to the Baltimore area and people from all over come to celebrate during festival time. The St. Nicholas Greek Folk Festival, which takes place at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church at Greektown Square, celebrates the rich culture, music and culinary heritage of the Greek. The biggest Greek festival in Maryland spotlights Greek food, pastries, folk dancing, live music and entertainment. The admission to the festival is free. It is the most attended and longest running Hellenic event of the year. Philippine Festival June 6th NATIPUNAN Philippine festival 2015 June's Celebrate Filipino culture at the Philippine Festival at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Maryland. St. Leo's Church hosts the festival in the heart of Little Italy. The festival has great food, a bocce tournament, entertainment, games and kids' activities. Honfest June 13th - 14th HONfest Honfest is a Baltimore local tradition that takes place on 4 blocks of 36th Street in the Hampden neighborhood. It celebrates the Baltimore working women. You will see beehive hairdos and make-up in contests for young and old. There is also food and entertainment for the entire family. BAWLMER2013 LatinoFest June 27th - 28th LatinoFest celebrates the Hispanic community and culture in Baltimore at Patterson Park, the heart of Baltimore's Latino Community. This year celebrates the 35th Anniversary of the great cultural event. There is live Latin music ranging from salsa to mariachi, dancers, arts and crafts displays, food, a rock climbing wall, children's activities and much more. The event is put on by Education Based BALTMORES BEST LATINO JUNE 27+28 PATTEYSON PARK Latino Outreach. African American Festival June 20th - 21st American The African American Festival is an annual celebration of African American life. The festival is a free event held at Camden Yards between Lots B & C. There are national performers on multiple stages, seminars, health events, kids' programming and much more. The mayor of Baltimore is one of the official sponsors of the event that starts at noon both days. DC/Baltimore Caribbean Carnival July 11th - 12th The Caribbean Festival is held in Baltimore at Lake Clifton Park. The event starts off with a parade. There will be reggae and soca music, Caribbean food and performers. Maryland's Polish Festival July 11th - 12th Maryland's Polish Festival takes place at Exhibition Hall at the Maryland State Fairgrounds. The festival celebrates the traditions and rich culture of the Polish people. There is live music, entertainment, Polish and American food, beer, crafts and vendors. Artscape July 17th - 19th Artscape is the largest free arts festival in the United States. It attracts over 400,000 people annually to Baltimore. The festival features over 150 fine artists, fashion designers and craftspeople with entertainment, including a free performance by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. There are hands-on projects, demonstrations, children's entertainment, international food and beverages and much more. Artscape is located along Mt. Royal Avenue and Cathedral Street, Charles Street, Bolton Hill and the Station North Arts and Entertainment ARTSCAPE District. Feast of St. Gabriele August 15th - 16th Little Italy. Baltimo The Feast of St. Gabriele is the second Italian festival in BUON APPETITO Baltimore's Little Italy neighborhood. The event is hosted by St. Leo's Church. The festival has great food, a bocce tournament, entertainment, games and kid's activities. Das Best Oktoberfest September 26th & October 10th There are two celebrations for OktoberFest in Baltimore. The first is September 26th at The Plateau at National Harbor, Maryland and the second is at M & T Bank Stadium in downtown Baltimore on October 10th. Das Best Oktoberfest is a beer festival with over 150 international, domestic and local Maryland beers. There is German music, food, and contests. • DAS BEST Datober fest Russian Festival October 16th - 19th The Russian Festival is held at the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church. The festival celebrates the many traditions and heritage of the Russian people. Enjoy traditional Russian food, music, crafts, dance and more. Maryland's Irish Festival November 13th - 15th The Maryland Irish Festival takes place annually at the Maryland Fairgrounds in Timonium. It is a celebration of Irish culture with Irish music, dancing, food, cultural exhibits and vendors. The festival features local, regional and international Irish music performers.
