HOW THE LIVELIHOOD PROGRAMME WORKS Our unique livelihood programme in Bosnia provides poor families with long-term financial security PREGNANT GOATS LOANED TO FARMERS The farmers keep the offspring and make use of the animals throughout the year. This means they have milk to drink, wool from the sheep and are able to increase thier livestock. ANIMALS SOLD ON WHEN READY During Eid-ul-Adha, the animals are sold for Qurbani. The farmer benefits from the sale and the people who slaughter the animals also get paid. 3 VOLUNTEER LOANED ANIMAL IS RETURNED Muslim Aid take back thier loaned animal for Qurbani and distribute the meat to the poor and needy. 4 POOR RECEIVE MEAT ON QURBANI Not only do the poor receive meat during Eid-ul-Adha, they also get to enjoy the festivity of Eid. 5 FARMERS INVEST BACK IN TO FARM With the money received from the sale of animals, the farmer is able to re-invest in their farm by buying farming essentials and rearing more animals. £35 IT'S A WIN-WIN SITUATION!
