Yet in low-income neighborhoods, there is only 1 book for every 300 children. Nestlé and Reading Is Fundamental, the nation's largest children's literacy nonprofit, are working to provide children with books to create a strong foundation for literacy through Nestlé's Share the tkri-sast tkids t'int ta-mer-a-ka Joy of Reading program. But they need your help, Reading Is Fundamental lost significant federal funding in the last budget cycle, so now more then ever, it is important to give back and support underserved children and their families. You Can Make a Difference! Poverty levels have hit a record high of 47 million, affecting 22% of children in America, leaving millions more children still in need of literary 30% resources. Nestlé has helped Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) provide books and services of preschools and after-school programs serving low-income populations have no age-appropriate books for their children. to more than 27,000 children in 19 states, helping kids become solid readers and lifelong learners.
