Common Programs Offered in Montessori Schools No one can deny the importance of schooling for children. It is the key phase in a child's life and is directly responsible for his or her overall growth. Every parent wants their child to go to the best schools and learn things that will help them grow. This is why Montessori schools take special care in creating courses and activities that help greatly in a child's development. Montessori School Practical Activities Many Montessori schools introduce children to practical life exercises In the first two years. These exercises satisfy the child's need to imitate adult behavlor and achieve increasing levels of independence. Practical Life Activities include pouring, sorting. hand washing, fruit slicing, tracing, cutting/pasting, folding, social graces and percep- tual motor activities. Sensorial Activities Sensorial exercises involve innovative educational mate- rials that assist the child in the development and refine- ment of his sensory organs. The child learns to grade and sequence objects according to various attributes, giving the student a clear, deep understanding of sequences, groups and sets. These activities prepare the child for the more advanced math and geometry activities of the kinder- garten year. Mathematics 2+2= Mathematics is introduced individually as the child demonstrates interest and readiness. Children are taught to count, add, subtract and multiply with appropriate mate- rials. This gives the child a learning experience that is posi- tive, rewarding and provide optimum learning at each stage of development. Language Programs Language program offers a varlety of languages, depen- ding on the programs offered by the preschool. It is impe- rative that each child be allowed to progress to a state of physical and mental readiness before formal language exercises are introduced. The child experiences matching cards, stories, poetry, listening games and other prepara- tory activities. They can learn not just English but langua- ges like Spanish as well. Cultural Enrichment In addition to the core curriculum your child will engage in delightful cultural activities that instill a lifelong love and respect for history and cultures. Students learn to appre- ciate varlous culture and foreign traditions. Arts & Music Preschools infuse music and arts for teaching the children a varlety of things. From language to ethics and manners, children can learn and understand the importance of a varlety of things. Every child is creative, some like to play music and sing while others love playing with colors. Mon- tessori schools help develop and tend to the child's needs and creative desires, Yoga Yoga programs are unique and not offered by all prescho- ols. However those few offering it are able to teach chil- dren different breathing techniques, poses, games, activl- tles for relaxation and visualization. Yoga programs allow students to flourish by honoring their individual learning styles. Children develop positive traits such as confidence, compassion and respect.
