Federal support for research and development is being crowded out by decreasing tax revenues and unsustainable entitlements. By contrast, China's percentage has grown by 1% every year. The US Ranks 6th on the 2014 Global Innovation Index. We need a federal government that supports a new generation of innovators and thinkers to be competitive in the global economy. Without increased spending other countries will outpace us in research, development, and building high-tech economies.
