VIDEO AND THE DISTRIBUTED WORKFORCE WHAT IS THE DISTRIBUTED WORKFORCE? The distributed workforce is also known as "free agents" who are a legion of externally mobile workers who can work anywhere, anytime. People who turn coffee shops, libraries, stores, airports or parks into their new office when there is wifi available. Percentage of organizations that have a remote workforce: 84% MODERN WORKER CLASSIFICATION Modern workers can be classified into one (or more) of four types: FIXED/STATIC INTERNALLY MOBILE EXTERNALLY MOBILE TELECOMMUTER Employees engage in independent work – traditional office tasks ranging from process support implementing the thinking and ideas of others to knowledge work originating information, concepts, and ideas. Alternate between individual and group work throughout the day but mostly remain within the corporate office environment. Perform both individual and group work, but they work any time, anywhere.
