The Top 7 Video Conferencing Taboos To Avoid At All Costs

THE TOP 7 VIDEO CONFERENCING TABOOS TO AVOID. AT ALL COSTS. NO NUDITY. Wear clothes. And all of them. 17% of people have seen someone dressed inappropriately. 21% have admitted to attending a video conference wearing a professional top and pajama pants. IT'S NOT A MIRROR. It's a video camera. Don't confuse the two. You're not just looking at you. We're all looking at you, too. 18% have seen someone make this mistake. And it ain't pretty. 3 NO CANIS INTERRUPTUS. Or feline. Or any other pet, for that matter. 17% of Americans have seen an attendee's pet make an unexpected cameo appearance. DON'T PICK YOUR NOSE. Don't pick anything. Leave your face and body alone. 10% have seen someone pick their nose on-screen. Some could never bring themselves to shake that person's hand again. 5 NO HUMAN SOUNDS. Please. Don't emit awkward, inappropriate bodily noises. While almost half of Americans report being bothered by loud background noises, we would take that over the 10% who've heard emissions during a meeting that they wish they hadn't. 6. STAY OUT OF BED. Nobody wants to see where you sleep. 7% have seen someone participate in a video conference from their bed. Don't be that someone. 7 STAY OUT OF THE BATHROOM. Enough said. 24% of Americans voted this as the WORST thing someone could do on-screen. And horrifyingly enough, 6% have had to witness it. THERE YOU HAVE IT. 7 taboos to avoid so you'll never make a spectacle of yourself. You're welcome. Now go get online, and have a great meeting! A Public Service Announcement from join.me. Encouraging everyone to enjoy simple, instant online meetings and to video conference responsibly! join This study was conducted by Lab42 in June 2015 among 2,000 respondents ages 22 and up in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Australia and New Zealand. by me LogMe(n 2
