Christmas in Canada

The only problem is the beavers are hibernating, and the maple leaves don't bloom till Spring... for Christmas ... What's a Southern Boy to do ?! we will travel by air into YEG and carpool with experienced Canadian ice road drivers toque (to keep the head warm) Central Alberta is on Mountain time, 2 hours behind US Eastern time. Expect daylight from 8 - 5 daily. Expect temperatures from -25 -> 5 degree Celsius 3-4 warm baselayers 2-3 sweaters, long sleeve shirts, fleece jacket 1 nice shirt for church tees for sleeping Roaming is expensive! Leave the phone off and plan to make calls on Amy's cell (which includes calling from Canada) daypack music reading notebook water bottle cash passport Expect to have WIFI access at select destinations* Upon request, arrangements can be made to see baby cows, adult horses, and possibly the nearby ostrich farm - warm gloves 3-4 warm baselayers 2-3 comfy pants for lounging 1 nice pants for church pants for sleeping Please notify your host of any allergies to adorable cats and energetic, poorly trained dogs 2 pairs of shoes extra socks arrive around noon drive to farm and visit with family Breakfast in the condo Ski Lake Louise Relax in outdoor hot pools Cook family dinner Christmas Day Open Gifts Enjoy Christmas Dinner Rest and Relaxation Family Time drive to Banff National Park Hidden Ridge Resort Cook family dinner Drive home to the farm Prepare for Christmas dinner Christmas Eve service at Our Savior Lutheran Church M One gift opening: then cookies for Santa Boxing Day!
