British Education: The Numbers It's been said that the UK is lagging behind and falling down the league tables of international education standards. London-based private tutoring agency, Tutor House, investigates the facts and figures behind the UKs education sector. 97.3% of children enrole into secondary level education in the UK - ranked 6th in the world. 12 years of compulsory education in the UK education system - ranked 9th in the world. 32.2% of the UK's education expenditure dedicated to primary education; 47.1% dedicated to secondary education and 20.6% dedicated to tertiary education. The UK has over 28 million library books - 4th in the world; 2,868 library employees - 2nd in the world; * and 66,000 library members - ranked 22nd in the world. The UK has 3 universities, Oxford, Cambridge & Imperial ERSITY London, in the top 10 universities in the world. G9% of UK schools and universities have internet access - ranked 8th in the world. There are 1.4 bilion students in education worldwide, with 65.2 milioOn tutors. It's estimated that 15% people in the UK have dyslexia.
