Pedestrian oriented designs such as high visibility crossings, reduced vehicle turning radi, and leading pedestrian intervals II: Walking Trips to Bus Stops: 35% of users Commuters and shoppers who live, work, or shop and walk to the Fifer Ave/Luciky Drive bus stops, Pros: Transit users would no longer use POC after relocation of bus stops Significantly shorter walking distances for POC users from the SFDB corridor Cons: None • Improved transit stops with formalized Park and Ride lot • With relocation of bus stops to Wornum and SFDB, the POC would not be used by transit riders • Many transit users will have significantly shorter walking distances due to relocated stops on Wornum Drive and SFDB Bicycle: • Improved bicycle facilties (similar to those noted for pedestrians) with minor, if any, changes to travel distance will improve pedestrian comfort at these crossings. III: Short Local Trips: 2% of users (Between Lucky Drive / Fifer Ave And Redwood Highway) Residents who live on either side of the POC and walk across for work, shopping, or the gym. Five out of the seven surveyed POC users making this trip were on bicyde and are included in Category VIL Pros: Improved pedestrian faclities crossing US-101 and Corte Madera Creek Improved pedestrian facilities along Nellen Ave, Tamal Vista Blvd, LARKSPUR LANDING BICYCLE and Redwood Hwy VI: Commute Trips: 8% of users Bicycle cormmute trips to the US-101 bus stops, the Larkspur Ferry Terminal, or local work destinations, Cons: Longer walking distance for some users (Approximately 1/3 mile increase) Pros: Improved bkycle faclities No change in bicycing distance or time Cons: None IV: School Trips: 15% of users KENTFIELD AND GREENBRAE (Doherty Drive And Neil Cummins) Students and teachers who walk from the schooks along Doherty Drive or Neil Currmins Elermentary School to the Fifer Ave/Lucky Drive bus stops or residences along Redwood Highway. No bicycists were surveyed making this trip type. DOHERTY DRIVE SCHOOLS VII: Recreational and Shopping Trips: 9% of users Recreational bicycle trips through the study area and shopping trips to the Cost Plus Center, Pros: Improved bicycie facilties Cons: Some bikyde trips will increase by an average of i mle (6% of total POC users), This represents approximately 1 to 2 minutes of riding time.
