Also try to limit or avoid foods very high in sugar. QUIT SMOKING Smoking can cause gum disease, bad breath, tooth stains, hairy tongue, tooth decay, tooth loss, leukoplakia and oral cancer. It also delays the healing process following a tooth extraction or oral surgery. VISIT YOUR DENTIST The frequency of the dental check-ups will be established by your dentist based on your oral health, age and history.
