We all recognise Dubai as the city that oozes wealth, glitz and glamour and one that would never do anything by halves. Its whirlwind growth over the past decade or so has prompted a rapid influx of t...
ourism and it’s certainly not hard to see why! The paradise city boasts sizzling temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius in the summer, stretches of white caster-sugar sand beaches and plenty of opportunities to shop till’ you drop in some of the most extravagant shopping centres in the world. And when it comes to filling your days with fun and frivolity, there is certainly no shortage of activity in Dubai. Get wet at the one of the world-famous water parks, quad bike over the sprawling sand dunes or even try your hand (or shall we say feet!) at skiing in an indoor slope. Yep, you did indeed hear right – skiing in Dubai!
The lavish decadence of the city doesn’t end there though. Dubai is renowned for its crowning glory of breaking a rather large number of world records, there is in fact even a Guinness world record office situated in the city itself! That’s why we thought we’d gather some of the most outlandish and astounding world records to marvel at in one handy graphic. Did you know, for example, that Dubai showcases the world’s largest gold ring? (A whopping 64 kilograms!) Or that it is home to the world’s tallest building, The Burj Khalifa? The 828-metre skyscraper even boasts another 5 world records alone!
Check out the rest of the wonderment here…
