Easy Ways to Conserve Water in the Home Bathroom Turning off the water while washing your hair can save up to 530 litres of water a month. Kitchen Soak dirty pots and pans when cleaning them instead of letting the water run over them. It not only saves water but makes them easier to clean. Spend less time in the shower. If you lose track of time, bring a radio into the bathroom and time yourself by how many songs play while you're in there. When ice cubes are left over in your drink don't throw them away but pour them on a plant. Minutes Check your toilet for leaks at least once a year as many leaks can be silent.
