Equality between men and women means equal participation and opportunities in all spheres of public and private life. Women in Georgia, are still under-represented at all levels of decision making. Despite they count for almost 60% of voters they hold on average only 12% of positions in governing bodies, both at the local and at the national level. Investing in policies that promote Gender Equality in political participation gives women the chance to fully contribute to economic and social development, creating more sustainable societies for all.
