No one likes tuition increases. Students are affected most directly. But when states face a budget deficit, they look to cut. Sometimes those cuts come from education. That creates a short fall for the university, who either has to offer less to students or raise their tuition. In some states- like Florida -public university tuition is still an incredible bargain.
