Metro Vancouver is the sixth-fastest growing census metropolitan area, but that growth is anything but evenly distributed. The population of the City of Vancouver, the urban core, is flat-lining, or even declining. But Surrey, Coquitlam and comparatively tiny Port Moody are growing fast - shifting Metro Vancouver's centre of gravity east.
