Las Vegas Los Angeles 3. 4. San Francisco 5. Orlando Interestingly, these were not the same top five destinations that consumers actually traveled to. New York City Top 5 'desired' or most searched for destinations in Q1 2013 2. Phoenix Top 5 destinations actually traveled to in Q1 2013 3. Philadelphia 4. Atlanta Atuat Destinations 5 Washington DC were the most popular travel destinations overall. IV NYC topped the list of most searched and traveled to destinations. In fact, twice as many travelers visited NYC in Q1 2013 than second most visited city, Phoenix. Though Florida cities have consistently ranked among the top five most searched for and traveled to cities within the last year only one Florida city, ORLANDO cracked top five on the most searched list in Q1 2013. Florida was the most popular family travel destination in Q1 2013, with Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale both among the top ten travel destinations for groups of two or more. WHO IS TRAVELING AND WHY? 41.54% - Female MORE MALES TRAVELED IN QI 2013 THAN FEMALES. 58.46% - Male BUSINESS TRAVEL is on the steady rise Huge jump in business-related travel in Q1 2013. 43.2% of travel in Q1 2013 was for fun (leisure) 56.8% of travel took place for business purposes up 4% from the same time period last year Top destinations for Business Travel Atlanta 2 Philadelphia 3 Washington DC Seattle New York City HOW ARE THEY TRAVELING? 95% OF TRAVELERS FLEW COACH in Q1 2013, while just under 5% flew first class Top destinations for Fist Class Traveless 1.
