A companion piece to my Interstates as Subway map, this one showing all the U.S. Numbered Highways (think Route 66, or U.S. 101 up the Pacific coast). A far more complex system and one that stretches the limits of this technique to its limits. Major east-west routes end in "0" (and US 2, which stands in for US 0), while mafor north-south routes end in "1". Historical routes are also shown as thinner lines beneath the main map.
