The digital age is constantly improving access to all kinds of media and resources through an overwhelmingly large number of devices, so it can be hard to keep track. One of the biggest phenomenons is...
Social Media, with its variety of choices. Although there are age restrictions that apply, often there are ways around these if you are clever enough and once one person finds it, they spread it around quickly.
What should you watch out for?
Social Media is not necessarily bad, but there are some things on social sites that you may not want your children to see – especially at younger ages. Online platforms can also encourage issues such as bullying and exclusion, which can be just as harmful as problems in real life.
While your kids may – and let’s face it, they probably will – disapprove of you having any part in their social presence, your supervision can help catch these issues early on and prevent them from escalating. It is important to prepare your child for what may come in the future, which they will no doubt appreciate later on down the line.
