UK ❤ Cans

UK V Cans blue green tomorrow There were 9.449 billion drinks cans sold throughout the UK in 2011. That equates to 152 for every person. That means on average everyone drinks 3 cans a week. 152 cans per person in 2011 The UK recycled 42% of its cans in 2011. Every Can Counts, the away from home drinks can recycling programme, was responsible for 51 million cans being recycled in 2011. This is an increase on the 27 million cans it collected the previous year, however this still represents just 0.5% of the total. If we could save all the UK's empty drinks cans... ...in 10 seconds we would have enough to match the height of the Eiffel Tower. ..in 47 minutes those empty cans would weigh the same as a fully loaded double decker London bus. ...in 7 hours the drink from those cans would fill an Olympic swimming pool. ..in 1 year the cans would stretch from the Earth to the Moon three times. Every Can Counts bit.ly/everycan Calculations based on the UK standard 330ml cans Source: The Can Makers bit.ly/canmakers
