And to help address this question, we turned to a variety of digitally savvy businesses that use Twitter, and asked them to share the value they see from using it as a business tool. They also let us in on a few of the secrets to their success so that you can test them out for your business. Who we talked to 1,100 survey respondents located in the U.S. Digitally sawy SMBS: Twitter users: Twitter advertisers: 500 SMB owners 169 SMBS 636 SMB Twitter accounts and employees who are involved in managing online marketing. who have participated in paid advertising on Twitter (a subset of digitally sawvy SMBS and Twitter users) Twitter as a masketing tool 72% agree it is important to have a Twitter presence 68% 41% feel Twitter is important to their marketing strategy use Twitter to promote their business Among those who use Twitter 70% post at least once at day 94% Tweet say it is most valued among social channels 74% feel they get a positive return on time invested in Twitter Toites-Simplicity #ProTip Of those 58% 85% say that it helps them understand how to manage their business account have a personal Twitter account AAAAA AA 9 in 10 agree Twitter is an EASY PRODUCT to use, and 2 out of 3 agree it has gotten easier over time How can Twitter, help you reach your business goals? 73% say it is a good resource to connect with influencers/ industry experts 73% say it provides a quick way to reply to customer service issues 80% 66% say it can be a good channel to easily disseminate information to a large group of people say it can replace the need to provide regular update website their #ProTip Digitally savvy SMBS use Twitter to drive traffic to outside content 74% website 40% Blog 17% Newsletter 9% other Cross-promote to MAXIMIZE REACH The value of engagement #ProTip 51% 88% tweet directly at customers see Twitter as a "very important" customer service tool 38% reply to their customers within an hour Word of Mouth 9 in 10 view people who interact with them on Twitter to be valuable to their business. Follow 67% find it extremely valuable when their followers recommend that others follow their Twitter account.
