The truth about A&E visits In 2012/2013 there were 18.3 MILLION* A&E attendances across England. That's the equivalent of approximately 1 IN EVERY 3** of England's total 53 MILLION population attending A&E in one year. Just under half 49.4% (49.4 %) of all A&E attendees WERE MALE. (18.3M* 7.9 A&E A&E attendees were aged 29 OR UNDER - THAT'S 42.8 % OF MILLION THE TOTAL. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE A&E ATTENDEES? ALMOST 1 IN EVERY 2 PEOPLE 34.4% OR 6.3 MILLION 20-29 THREE MILLION (16.3 %) of those attendees Of the total number who attended A&E were treated with guidance or advice only. 2.3 MILLION (12.8%) people received NEITHER ADVICE NOR TREATMENT. WERE AGED 20-29 Of the 18.3 MILLION, 11.7 MILLION (64.1 %) attendees arrived at £980.4 MILLION 64.1% A&E having referred themselves or their chikdren.
