TOP TEN ENERGY SAVING TIPS Making your home as energy efficient as possible will reduce the amount of energy you use. There may be grants and discount schemes to help with the cost of these measures. CONSIDER RENEWABLE GET THE LOFT INSULATED TECHNOLOGIES One of the most effective ways to cut energy bills is to generate your own energy. A typical 4KWP solar panel can generate feed-in tariff payments and energy bill savings topping £785 a year. The Energy Savings Trust recommends having at least 270mm (around 10in) of loft insulation, arguing that an uninsulated home can save up to £180 a year.
