The stormwater is treated with environmentally-friendly UV light to disinfect the water prior to reuse in the park. UV disinfection is a non-chemical disinfection technology that has the benefit of not forming any disinfection byproducts and can eliminate chlorine-resistant microorganisms like Cryptosporidium and Giardia.
